The Valley of Fires Recreation Area is located adjacent to the Malpais Lava Flow and offers visitors a unique area of molten rock for exploration. The BLM includes nature trails and a campground. The campground features 19 sites for tent and RV camping. Some of the sites include electric hookups and all have picnic shelters, tables, grills, and drinking water. A full bathroom with flush toilets and showers is available as well as dispersed vault toilets. Nightly campsite rates vary between $7-$18 per night. Sites are available on a first-come, first-serve basis.
